Detailed Itinerary: Late Shared Tour to Rainbow Mountain 2026

We pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 8:30 a.m. and then travel by private transportation for about 2 hours on a paved road, followed by approximately 1 hour on an unpaved road. We arrive at the starting point of the hike, located at 4,600 meters above sea level.

From there, we hike about 400 meters on a gentle uphill trail to the viewpoint of the Rainbow Mountain, known as Vinicunca, situated at 5,000 meters above sea level.

At the summit viewpoint, we enjoy breathtaking views of the colorful mineral stripes, red valleys, and the majestic glaciated Ausangate Mountain.

After enjoying the scenery, we hike gently downhill for about 1 hour and 30 minutes back to the vehicle. Then, we drive for about 1 hour to the lunch spot, and afterward continue by car for approximately 2 more hours back to Cusco, dropping you off near the main Plaza de Armas.
