San Pedro Drink Ceremony Peru
The San Pedro drink, which comes from a cactus, is considered the hope of humanity for healing and for connecting with the guardians of the sacred mountains, such as the Great Apu, Auky, and Pachamama.
This cactus plant grows in the Sacred Valley of the Incas in Cusco, where local shamans dedicate themselves to preparing this beverage for their ceremonies, in which both national and international visitors may participate.
This drink is traditionally seen as a source of hope for healing from illnesses that affect us in the physical world. In addition, it helps people connect with the sacred mountains, where one may feel blessed.
Preparation: To prepare it, only the outer skin of the cactus is used, as it contains mescaline. The process involves drying the skins, grinding them with a stone mill, and then boiling them for many hours until the liquid becomes thick and concentrated.
Afterward, the drink is strained and then consumed, allowing a connection with nature for a period of about six hours.
We invite you to take part in this sacred San Pedro cactus ceremony, to be blessed by the positive energies of nature. It is also believed that this cactus creates a protective shield against illnesses that may occur during our earthly life.
