Rainbow Mountain Horseback Ride Itinerary – Vincunca Cusco Peru

Your unforgettable adventure to Rainbow Mountain begins early in the morning with a pickup from your hotel in Cusco at approximately 4:40 AM. From there, we travel in comfortable private transportation through the beautiful South Valley of Cusco for around 2 hours until we arrive at a local restaurant for breakfast.

After breakfast, we continue driving for approximately an hour to the trailhead near the Rainbow Mountain entrance. At the beginning of the route, local horses are available for rent, usually organized by local communities near the bus terminal area.

Once the horseback ride begins, you will enjoy a scenic ascent through stunning Andean landscapes for about 1 hour. Along the trail, you will pass colorful valleys, traditional mountain scenery, and panoramic views of the Peruvian Andes. The route includes gentle uphill sections until reaching the first spectacular viewpoint overlooking the Rainbow Mountain valley.

From this point, there is a final 20-minute uphill hike to the official viewpoint of Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain. At the summit, you will have time to relax, take photos, and admire one of the most breathtaking natural attractions in Peru.
