In the afternoon, we continue toward Apacheta Pass, reaching approximately 4,700 meters (15,420 ft), before descending to the beautiful Ausangate Lake. From this campsite, visitors can truly appreciate why Ausangate has been considered a sacred mountain by local Andean cultures for centuries.
