Short Itinerary

• Day 1: Departure from Cusco – Explore Cloud Forest – Overnight in Jungle Lodge
• Day 2: Visit Machuwasi Lagoon – Boat ride on Madre de Dios River – Pantiacolla Lodge
• Day 3: Parrot Clay Lick – Hike in the rainforest – Bamboo Lodge
• Day 4: Return by boat and van from Atalaya to Cusco

The time to pick you up is by 4:35 am, then go through Paucartambo province, which is the capital of folkloric, and also this town has some nice Colonial architecture, then some stone bridge.

Then we arrive to Acjanaco pass, which is a nice viewpoint located at 4000 masl (13,123ft), from this pass, we start entering in the national Manu jungle park, starting running into the cloud forest full of green vegetation, mosses, lichens, orchids, and then species of the small birds.

Sometimes in this section can be seen some Capuchin monkeys and wooly monkeys.

Day Two: Jungle Lodge Machuwasi Lagoon Then Pantiacolla Lodge

Early wake up, and then some breakfast, then we visit the surrounding garden and orchard, then some coca plantation fields. Here we will learn about exotic fruit trees and medicinal plants, and herbs grown in this area. Afterward, we go by our car to Atalaya place, from where ride our motorboat through the famous river named Alto Madre de Dios, then along the riding time on our boat, we stop at lake Machuwasi, and this is the place where live many species of birds, like the pre-historic birds named hoatzin (Opisthocomus hoazin), then the screamer (Anhima cortuna Arauco), then egrets, etc, then also we see some caimans on the edge of the Madre de Dios river.

Then, once we are already in Pantiacolla area, we will see some howler monkeys, having some rest in the trees, and in the river we can see some otters, and sometimes capibaras looking for some food on the shores of the river.

Also, we see at the native forest some mammals, and parrots, then at night we do night walk in the forest to see some nocturnal animals like monkeys, birds, otters, and others.

Day Three: Parrot Clay Lick Then Bamboo Lodge

Today before breakfast, we ride our boat to the place where we see hundreds of parrots and macaws, feeding on dry clay, also sometimes we can see some toucans, howler monkeys, maybe some otters, and some capybara.

Then, we go for breakfast at our jungle lodge, and afterward, we go for a hike in the jungle and see the enormous trees, like Aleton tree, Ceiba, and the beautiful Ficus, then on the ground, we see some lizards, frogs, toads, then a lot of species of ants from the smallest to the largest, and some insect rare species.

Afterward, we ride our motor boat upstream to arrive to our next jungle lodge for the overnight.

Day Four: Jungle Lodge Then Cusco City

Today, early wake up, then some breakfast, afterward time to ride our motorboat on the river back to  Atalaya port, and along the route, maybe we can watch some wildlife still, like capybaras denominated the largest rodent in the world, and some passing birds.

After Atalaya we ride our private van transport the way back to Cusco city, starting the ride from the beginning of the Amazon jungle, then through the cloud forest, then we stop along the route for some lunch, then we will be arriving in Cusco by 6:pm with dropping you off at your hotel.

To confirm your booking, you need to send us a deposit of US$200 through our PayPal account. Please note that PayPal charges a 7% fee on any transfer, which is paid by the sender. For this reason, the total amount you need to send is US$214
