My name is Isacc. I was born in a small community called Kunoc, located in the Andean mountains at 3,650 meters above sea level (11,975 ft). Kunoc belongs to the Cusco region of Peru. In my community, people speak Quechua, which was the official language of the Incas who lived in Machu Picchu around 1400 AD. This means we are a living culture, and we continue to preserve the skills and traditions of our ancestors.

I worked as a shepherd until I was 16 years old. My father and older brothers worked as porters (Sherpas) on the traditional Inca Trail, carrying all the equipment for hikers on their journey to Machu Picchu.

When I was 16, I joined my family on the Inca Trail as a porter. That experience inspired me to become a tour guide. At the age of 18, I moved to Cusco city to study tourism and become a professional tour guide. During that time, I worked as a kitchen assistant in restaurants while studying for five years. As I improved my Spanish and English, I began working as an assistant guide and later became an official professional tour guide and paramedic guide on the Traditional Inca Trail to Machu Picchu and throughout Peru.

I have hiked the Inca Trail more than 1,000 times. Eventually, due to knee problems, I decided to take a new step in my career.

That was when I founded my own company, Chacras Travel Peru, built on years of experience and deep cultural knowledge. Today, the company is doing very well. I proudly employ members of my family and experienced friends, and we continually train new team members to maintain the highest standards of service for our clients from all over the world.
