Mainly, we have many different trails and itineraries to hike the Lares Trek Peru, which is available from different tour companies in Cusco city. Firstly the trek starts from Cusco by car for 2 hours and a half, arriving in the sacred valley, then we start the hike through the brown Andes mountains and have few passes located over 4,400 masl ( 14,350ft).

The total Lares trek is 38 kilometers (23 miles) and is an easier trail than the traditional Inca trail, since no stone steps, along the trek, mainly is a dirt road

Hiking Lares is 3 days, afterward in day 4 is Machu Picchu Inca site, so the connection after finishing the hike for Machupicchu is riding a car for 2 hours and a half, and then train ride from Ollantaytambo village to Aguas Calientes town for 2 hours, then day 4 Machupicchu tour.

In conclusion, Trekking Lares Trek is camping for 2 overnight in tents, then the third night is in a hotel, which is at Aguas Calientes town, situated at the beginning of the amazon jungle, with the warm temperature and located at 2000 masl (6,561 ft).

Mainly you carry, your own daypack with essential things, you can need, such as water, snacks, sweater, rain jacket, etc. And the rest of the equipment will be carried by horses since we use horses, for all the alternative trails, so in this way, you will get the rest of your stuff every day at the campsites.

How  Cold Is Lares Trek In Peru?

Firstly,  Lares trek is high altitude, and hiking through the Andes mountain range, so that means, it can get quite cold, mainly during the winter, which is from May to September and the temperature drops to below zero degrees Celsius at night and in the mornings,

Very important to bring some warm clothing, with a good sleeping bag and some warm gloves.

How Is About The Drinking Water Along The Lares Trek?
